You are already a Divine being - you don’t have to become worthy nor work hard at being perfect to “get into Heaven”. You came from there and will return. (I use the term Heaven, and although I would prefer “Source”, feel free to use the term that resonates with you) Yet in few cultures are we supported in knowing we are love itself. The concern is that if people don’t have to behave well to ensure a good afterlife, then they will just do what ever they want, and those in control will loose that control. Or perhaps primarily of concern is doing bad things that take advantage of others such as steel, harm, cheat etc. Yet we seem to have all of those actions going on in spades along side all the rules that use punishment or fear to get people to act a certain way.

Think about how you would act if you knew you were unconditionally loved and valued. If you were supported and cared for and had permission to be happy and feel worthy; what would your life look like? Would you be harming anyone or the planet, cheating others, or stealing from them? Not likely. You would probably ask nicely, share what you have, wait your turn, offer help to others struggling, etc. because you are in a good space; feeling loved and safe! You likely have experienced having a wonderful feeling day where you excelled at behaving kindly even sharing a smile with a grumpy stranger. Yes?

Welcoming in The New Year!
As we glance at 2024 in the rear view mirror, while curiously peering forward to see what the 2025 road opens to, I suggest a pause in which we are fully in the moment and in our bodies rather than our busy minds. By focusing the mind on to the body and the moment, we relax. We can begin to train the mind to do this more easily and once it gets used to how wonderful it feels to do so, it can happen more quickly. Just taking a deep belly breath and releasing it with an audible sigh relaxes the autonomic nervous system. It sends the message - all is well, I am safe. Because in this moment, aren’t you? If not, please run for your life or call 911 or what ever you need to do! Or are you actually safe in this moment? I bet in this right now moment, you are. No bear, no fire, no avalanche - right? 

Perhaps you are not, right in this moment, in a state of distress. But even small levels of stress, when constant, can take a toll on our health and make our lives much harder and less pleasant than they could be. 

When I am feeling some level of concern, I can now more easily (not always yet!) notice it for what it is - created by thoughts regarding something that triggered in me, a certain vibration or recognizable feeling that I have labeled anxiety, fear, worry, stress etc.  
But if everything is working in my favor, and not only do I believe this, but I am coming to experience and understand this on a deeper level as I remember to zoom out and look at the big picture, then I can trust what is and not allow my mind to always go into action to look for danger or try to solve it. Nor to push the feeling away.

TAKE NOTE - One should not completely shut down uncomfortable feelings. There are no good or bad feelings, they just all are. So give any feeling it’s moment to be acknowledged. Breathe into the belly and exhale. Do this, while still noticing the feeling, until the intensity lessens. You will make better decisions from this new state. Notice that the mind had more to do with how you were feeling in the body then the moment or situation  itself did. It was the thoughts about something rather than the physical happening of that something. When you breathe deeper and slower, the flight or fight instinct is not present and you can use more of your body - like your heart - to engage with the situation or the world.
Since everything is in my favor, I can relax more and remain open to opportunities and possibilities and keep my stress level low. If I let my mind get the better of me, stress tends to rise and I feel worse. If I relax into the truth of a loving Universe, more options flow my way with ease. 

Example. Currently, my client load is quite low, thus I am not generating much income. I know I have a lot to offer, and that what I do offer is valuable to people in their lives. My clients have all loved working with me and have been well served. I know this is my heart and in my mind. Yet, here I sit with little financial growth. I have spoken with a number of people recently who expressed interest in using my help, even if in less traditional ways from what I advertise on my website, and each time I am buoyed up that I could get some more hours and help someone in this way! And yet they have not actually taken the next step to contact me with details. I have resisted getting to much in my head about why this seems to be the case right now.

Also, as I finally moved into my new house this Fall, my tiny house has not sold as quickly as I imagined. The first time I sold it, it happened in two days. But that one ultimately fell through after two months. Ok, because my new house was delayed further than I thought, so I still needed to live there. Worked out for the best.

About the same time, I responded to an ad for part-time work at a local retail store and was immediately hired. I have no retail experience but knew I would be good at customer service. Other benefits include getting to dress up a bit, have a source of reliable income and be more in person with folks, even offering my services if the topic came up! All those things have come to pass and I really love engaging in person with people on a regular basis again.

Options for my assessment of the situation are nearly unlimited, but it is safe to say that one could imagine a few disempowering ones; such as “I just can’t make this business work, or maybe my clients don’t really benefit from the help I give, or maybe I am not meant to do this work, or… fill in your own ideas here. 

If everything is in my favor, and it is, and if everything can be seen as an opportunity, and it can, then let’s look at the possible benefits from lack of clients and the tiny house not selling quickly.

Part-time retail job - seeing lots of friendly faces, chatting with other community members, visitors etc. An opportunity to more routinely enjoy the extravert in me. Dressing nice, with jewelry!

Tiny House not selling fast - Many more people are looking at my tiny house and the video than if it had sold quickly - in this way, I am touching many lives! We all can radiate love and bring forward healing in unforeseen ways. I have received many comments about how the video touched folks!

Recent job potentials - maybe they are not quite what is needed for me (and them) right now, but it is a way to prepare me to think of other ways I can be of service. Perhaps I would not actually enjoy doing what they need done. Or maybe simply, right now is not the ideal time for either of us, but maybe later in 2025 will be.

Not to say I have all these “benefits” accurately figured out and maybe even more or different benefits will be known later, but the point is, I can choose to focus on what is happening as a “problem” or choose to see everything as an opportunity and in my favor. 

A powerful tool in my tool belt thanks to Dr. Sue, her teachings and her book “The Energy Codes” is doing the MPower step with B.E.S.T. (bioenergetic synchronization technique). You can learn more about it on youtube, in her book, or I am happy to teach you, but basically it uses a contralateral exercise to connect the conscious and the subconscious while focusing with love on a desired truth using a positive present tense statement.

I do think, or maybe it is better to say I feel, that part of my “job” here in this lifetime is to be a person to connect with, to engage with, as I hold the space for others to be themselves, or help to hold a container of support on a group zoom call or live event, to be the example of a strong woman, brave explorer, trusting person, loving and kind human, or any number of things that people may be inspired by through me. Ways I am not even aware of, and certainly not “trying” for, but by simply being me, I can inspire! I love to help people. Especially if they actually want the help! Sometimes just the step of asking for help is what brings forth the energy needed to get to a better place. Maybe that is another way I am in service! So many possibilities! None of them, I believe, are bad. Unless I decide they are. 

Have you been able to relax into something unpleasant that when you did, actually brought about a solution with little effort? Have you pushed something to happen, through much pain and effort, that you didn’t enjoy the outcome nearly as much as you expected to? If you look at those with the lens “everything is in my favor” - how does it look to you today?

Dad's

It’s my dad’s 81st birthday today. Or it would have been. He died last December. My Father-in-law passed away yesterday. He almost made it to 80 - about 3 weeks away. Both were dear to me. They were full of life and fun. Being men however, they didn’t take the best care of themselves. They were both surprised to live as long as they did. Yet I can’t help thinking, they could have lived longer if they had had better tools to care for their mental, emotional and physical health.

The Energy Codes offers better tools. These are not necessarily new tools. But we lost the real healing arts to modern medicine. Not that modern medicine hasn’t saved countless lives. It has. But it ignores critical pieces. All in the name of “science”. Yet quantum science is proving that energy medicine is just as, if not more, important and powerful. (think placebo effect)

The soul speaks to the body and the body speaks to the mind. But the mind is often not listening. When you can tune into your body and your feelings don’t scare you, wonderful things open up. We can re-gain these important missing pieces of our whole self, our whole experience, and improve our health. 

By embodying our experiences, living from our entire system not just the mind, we can move energies through our bodies in a healthy way. Everything is energy. Including you. And when energies get stuck, they can cause inflammation, disease, pain and ultimately suffering. When pushed away, feelings get stuck. They don’t just disappear. We all know this. Yet we were not really taught to properly deal with them, most certainly not to process them at the time they come up. We can gain back ground by learning some simple practices. 

I teach these practices in my work. You can also read the book “The Energy Codes” by Dr. Sue Morter. The audio book is especially great. These practices are doable for anyone. They involve the breath and tuning into your body. Some people live outside their body, so much so that they consider it as simply a way to move their head around. Kind of like a car, no? The body is so much more. And has much wisdom to share.  Gut feelings are a thing. Feeling love in the chest area or a broken heart is not just a concept. We have all experienced this to some degree.

I respect that all beings have a unique life journey. But I came to serve humanity. One of the ways I am doing that is through my work, and the rest is by just being me. Offering me and my light to the world. Being more and more my true self, without apology. In love and joy, not as an excuse for poor or disrespectful behavior. I don’t want to apologize for being me any more. Sometimes we learn quickly and sometimes what is needed is gradually embraced after countless exposure where it was resisted. When will you decide to listen? Is that time now?

There are many ways to get to a better sense of self, health and freedom from suffering. Find a path that resonates with you. But don’t keep putting it off. Eventually it might be too late. This life is all an adventure. It is not meant to be a trudge through the mud. We have been fooled. Find a better path that you enjoy more. And another even better one might present itself after that.

Wooden Horse

I have a wooden horse. It’s about 8 inches tall and is a modern art piece of sorts. I remember fairly clearly how I came to posses it. And I have looked upon the horse with that memory for all these years. I didn’t love the memory, so it is rather curious as to why I have kept the horse front and center over all these years. 

I was of grade school age and was in a shop with my Mom, siblings and my grandpa down in Portland OR near where my grandparents lived. I fell in love with this wooden horse. I think it might have been a little pricey for what it was, but regardless my Mom said no when I asked if I could have it. I proceeded to have a bit of a melt down. I don’t remember the details other than I cried and carried on and we had to leave the store. Later that day, my grandpa presented me with the horse. I don’t remember thanking him properly, likely I didn’t. I remember feeling surprised by it but grateful and relieved. Like a weight had been lifted. I was supposed to have this horse. For some reason. And I guess I knew it. But why? 

Recently I looked up at the horse sitting on a shelf in my tiny house. Storage is limited and precious as is display space. Yet the horse made the list to be here with me, in my small home. At that moment when I gazed at it recently I suddenly forgave my younger self for crying and carrying on so much about wanting it. Or maybe I forgave the adult me who shamed the younger self all these years. I thanked my grandpa (long passed of course) for knowing this one was important in some way. 

I still don’t know exactly what significance this wooden horse possesses but I do know it is enjoyable to look at. I always loved horses and wanted one for a while when I was young. I used to wish for a horse every time I saw a white car (I think that was the catalyst). When you saw a white car, you made a wish, licked your thumb and rubbed it in the palm of your other hand three times.  Perhaps this wooden horse was the answer to my prayer. Rather than the living version, a more manageable and less expensive as well as a longer companion on my journey. 

Simple little things like these in our lives that are curious little treasures we might even miss as such. It could have just remained something from my childhood that I kept moving from place to place with me. I knew it was special. And even though I still am not sure as to the significance, I have expanded my appreciation for it and the part of my story it is. Thank you younger me, Grandpa Higby and the craftsperson who created it. All part of the rich tapestry of a good and curious life.

Vulnerability

You have to let go of all the defensive strategies the protective personalty employs to shield you from getting hurt and connect, through sensation, with the very places inside you that feel painful, stuck and wounded.”

People used to think vulnerable was synonymous with week. It is actually the opposite. It is hard to be vulnerable. This is because our ego or protective personality dislikes the unknown. And by definition, allowing vulnerability includes not knowing what will happen if/when/next. And we can be so afraid that we are more willing to stay in a bad situation or in discomfort and misery simply because we know what to expect in those situations. Change and the unknown is scarier than the known to the ego. It’s primary job is safety. Even if that perceived safety is not actually safe in the long run. 

We didn’t come here into this life to be comfortable at all times. Yes, we all like comfort! But don’t mistake that as our primary concern. We also desire some level of growth, learning, and to contribute and engage with the world around us. And that means some level of discomfort will be necessary. Adventure is rewarding because there is a level of discomfort involved, be it the unknown, risk, challenge or fear. After our adventure we love to tell the story don’t we? People are interested in our adventures and like to either see themselves in you, consider doing something similar, or are grateful they learned something along with you, but without having to do it themselves.

Consider vulnerability as your greatest ongoing adventure. No matter the outcome, learning and growth occurs. This contributes richly to our life as well as those lives we touch. We offer a possibility for others to witness. By showing that being vulnerable is a super power, others just might open themselves up to it the next time it is looming, revealing a deeper truth and amaze themselves. We all move along our path, sometimes slowly, sometimes quickly, but we all need to move. Comfortable is slow and steady, but can be stagnant at its worse.

Be open to exploring your resistance to vulnerability and what role your protective personality is playing. Realize that you are not a young child that needs all these protections. In fact, too much protection keep you from living the life you came to live. The sooner you go exploring, the sooner you will be journeying on your path with joy and harmony, with fewer and less dramatic bumps or detours along the way. Trust me. It happens all the time. It did for me. It will for you.

A greater Sense of Sacredness

Do you ever wonder how to allow a greater sense of sacredness into your daily life?
Allowing is key, because all of who we are, including what we feel, is already sacred.
As we allow and embody this truth, we change the vibration of consciousness. Because as you allow the cosmic energy you are to drop-in, rise and reveal more of you, the love you are lands here in this dimension.
How do you recognize what the vibration of sacred feels like in daily life? My invitation for you is to drop-in now and allow the vibrational experience of this moment to be tender. Allow it to reveal your own tenderness.
If there is doubt, fear, angst, or sadness, soften and allow a tenderness. Those vibrations, ones we perhaps label as bad or wrong, are actually a contraction that is the Soulful Self attempting to more fully land here.
We’re here to train the mind to support the embodiment of our true magnificence. As you allow a tenderness to be available, the mind opens and more of the Soulful Self can land.
When it does, the entire bandwidth of humanity, the animals and earth, is impacted because you allow more of this deeper love that you are to drop-in, rise, and reveal.
We start to allow the sacred in daily life as we embrace all feelings with tenderness, as you would a new-born. As you do, aspects of you unify, similar to bits of mercury from a broken thermometer merging back together.

There is nothing that you are not.

As we consciously remember this state of wholeness by embracing every vibration that runs through our personal system, we no longer feel a need to protect ourselves and a byproduct is that our vibration rises. 
Instead of deciding a vibration is good or bad, be present with it and embrace what rises and you become a unifying presence. 
When the consciousness of your mind lands on what you feel, and you accept and embrace the feeling, love is there. And in a loving embrace, everything is transmuted.
When we deflect, rather than embrace and love specific vibrational frequencies, thoughts or emotions, we generate duality. As you embrace all, you unify and the solution reveals. You're here to embrace the mystical and the sacred and merge them into the practical aspects of daily life.

Ungrateful SOB?

We are curious creatures. Here I sit in first class on an airplane (bumped up no less) and I’m having to redirect my mind to be grateful for all the wonderful parts of flying first class rather than focus on the negatives that are also present - those that I struggle to NOT list here in order to justify or explain. Why the comparison? Why the focus on the unwanted? What benefit is there, perceived or imagined, hoped or intended? Why are we so often discontented? Just like in the parable about the field hand hired early in the day receiving the same payment from the farmer as the last hired hand who worked less. Why are we so easily unsatisfied by what we didn’t get or didn’t happen, when just earlier we were perfectly happy with the same. The first field hand hired was happy with the wage offered UNTIL he knew that someone else that worked less got the same. Nothing about his effort expended changed, only the awareness that someone else got a “better deal”. 
Comparison. It’s a dualistic world we live in. So comparison seems almost inevitable. We know what we have by what we don’t have. Or might it serve as a mechanism for striving or longing, that keeps us moving forward - not fully content equals not stationary. If we were too content, might we sit in boredom or worse, fall into a depression due to lack of motivation. Because that state doesn’t sound like contentment, I doubt it would be a long term tool for our evolution. We are constantly in an expansion contraction cycle, with many different experiences a necessary part of our growth experience. The sooner we recognize an unhelpful focus (comparison, on what is unwanted etc.) the sooner we can get to a more peaceful state - still holding the growth opportunity as presented, leaving more room/time for expansion in this life time. 
So no need to berate myself as it’s part of the journey. I noticed when it was happening and shifted my focus. Awareness sooner shortens the time spent unhappy. Allowing this to be the learning opportunity it is, and getting back to happy with what is as soon as I could - it’s the game of life. Moving through experiences and enjoying the journey, including the sticky and challenging parts, is ultimately what is going on here. This is where growth occurs! I have to remind myself of this rather than feel discouraged or worse, hopeless in a tough situation. But I have been practicing and it is getting much easier and I spend much less time ruminating about unwanted things. I am beginning to love this journey more and more!

Clutter as it relates to Trauma (PTSD)

I stumbled upon a Youtube video about clutter as a symptom of past trauma. This is not, mind you, when I first understood why I am both an organizer and declutter assistant as well as an energy codes coach (somewhat seemingly different offerings or businesses).  This is combination is actually more common than I though, as they are very closely related. But she caught my attention with the focus on trauma. I certainly understood that hoarding is often related to a deep wound or a void that can never be filled. But even clutter?

Yes. The kind of clutter that seems to remain, or return, despite your best efforts. Sometimes we just get off track and things pile up. Especially if we have had a big event in our life, like an illness or injury or a major loss. But much of the time, keeping too much stuff around too much of the time, can indicate that some deeper inquiry would be healthy and worthwhile.

There are many healthy ways to go about dealing with old hurts, wounds and subconscious beliefs. I offer one, and a good one too, through Dr. Sue Morter's work around the energy of those. And you don't have to figure out where the trauma stems from to clear it. We work with sensations in the body and the breath to move and clear stuck energies. When you shift a belief, conscious or subconscious, that you have held for a long time, maybe even decades, you may just find you are suddenly ready and willing to clean out that closets of old clothes, or recycle those broken items you were meaning to fix before selling, or tackling a pile (or boxes) of un-filed papers or photographs. Maybe even an entire garage or storage unit!

Looking around your home, are there areas that you have a hard time keeping organized? Do you have a hard time finding what you need when you need it? Do you hold onto things "just in case"?
